Shelley is a dear friend who is always saving a stray kitten or giving her time to someone in need. She’s an excellent hostess-her croquet party is legendary. She has a ready laugh and sparkling eyes. Shelley requested a non-dangling earring as she is rather petite, but I don’t believe in earrings that don’t swing when you walk. So, I needed to think hard about balance and lightness. I came up with just the thing. The shiny Sterling Silver ring makes this earring light while the dark, intense purple of the Amethyst Rondelle gives the eye a focal point. Keishi Pearls and small Labradorite Rondelles add an airy quality.
Donaji was named after Princess Donaji of the Zapotec people indigenous to the Americas. Donaji is as lovely as she is beautiful. She has striking features and gorgeous jet black hair. I wanted to find colors that would stand out, but not compete with her beauty. I like to balance bright hues with darker counterparts. The Amazonite faceted briolette plays along well with the dark red of the Garnet rondelles. Labradorite rounds out the balance with a hint of transparency and shimmer.
My friend, Carla, of the fabulous Austin Urban Gardens, was named after a hurricane. How many people can make that claim? She it truly one of the best gardeners in town–I’m talking field like proportions of basil plants. Luckily for me, she shares. In the spirit of giving I’ve made these earrings for her. Carla loves purple and these Amethyst certainly fit the bill. The Gunmetal chain takes away the frilliness of this super faceted briolette. To add some texture, but keep the Amethyst as the star, I combined silver and white Freshwater Pearls, faceted Smoky Quartz and Rock Quartz hung from handmade earring hooks. These briolettes are extremely limited. As of 3/2/2012 two pairs of earrings left from a limited edition of five pairs.
I am so lucky to be have creative, talented friends. I can’t tell you how inspiring my lovely friends with their myriad of personalities are. Miss Stef is the creative and easy going talent behind FlamingO Ranch. This lady makes the most surprising and eccentric mosaic pieces out of clay she forms by hand. She can make everything, including the humble coffee cup, into a piece of art. I used Garnet heart briolettes for her kindness, Tiger Eye for her tenacity and Freshwater Black Pearl for her mystery. The gems are wire wrapped onto Antique Brass chain with Sterling Silver.
Michelle is both elegant and fun. She loved the Megan earrings and asked me to design something similar using her favorite colors which remind her of the ocean. It was fun to look for all the different colors the ocean takes on. I found so many this is one of two. The smooth pear briolette Amazonite is like the Mediterranean on an idyllic day. Labradorite rondelles add mystery to the eye catching blue. The combination reminds me of the moon rising when it just touches the horizon of water. The hoops are hand hammered and hung from handmade earring hooks.

So very cool! Did you think a seashell could look so modern, tough and feminine? The Gunmetal chain gives this necklace a tough chick look while the onion cut Labradorites catch your eye and add delicious sparkle in the hues of green to blue to gold. This one is a stunner.
I love this multiple shell necklace which can be worn on either side. The mix of pink and green briolette and rondelle Tourmalines bring a light hearted sweetness to the delicate Gunmetal chain. The mix of dark and light with the shell makes this an easy piece to wear year round.
This beautiful necklace was made in honor of my dear friend Honey. Yes, that’s her real name. She is as sweet as honey, but don’t make her mad or you’ll feel the sting. This lariat style necklace can be worn as a bracelet as well.

This Betty is made out of faceted blue Goldstone, round Goldstone and African metal beads. The design was inspired by the African metal beads. They are a lovely bronze-copper color and vary in size and texture. I wanted to combine them with colors as unique as the beads. The faceted blue Goldstone is a dark sparkler. The smaller, round Goldstone beads add a warmth and play well with the metal beads.

Michelle is both elegant and fun. She loved the Megan earrings and asked me to design something similar using her favorite colors which remind her of the ocean. It was fun to look for all the different colors the ocean takes on. I found so many this is one of two. The Chrysoprase is light and frothy green. Paired with Moonstone on Gunmetal chain, I can hear the birds calling. The hoops are hand hammered and hung from handmade earring hooks.
A stunner. This one has gotten the most comments from friends and family that have previewed the collection. Like a work of art it’s unique and a bit quirky. A peach Baroque Pearl dangles from the bottom of the shell while two blue Tourmalines are used as anchors for the chain. The chain is finished out with silver Pearls, white Baroque Pearls and oval faceted Tourmaline on Gunmetal Chain with handmade Sterling Silver clasp.
This shell is so pretty! This side is all worn ivory and subtle grey while the other side verges on sunset with lovely peach and purple intertwined. I love the look of rustic with the gorgeous sheen of the pink Biwa Pearl. Strung on gold Copper wire and purple leather cord with gold filled handmade clasp. This shell may be worn on both sides.

The pink Biwa Pearls and Ivory Keishi Pearls add an elegance and sheen to the darkness of the Gunmetal chain. Handmade Sterling Silver necklace clasp. This shell may be worn on both sides.
This pretty little symmetrical shell is irresistible! There’s just a hint of color in the shell but it’s brought out by lovely peach and pink Barqoue Pearls. The gunmetal chain with handmade clasp keep it from looking too girly. This shell may be worn on both sides.
Seashell Flowers Peach and Pink Pearl Gunmetal | Materials:Baroque Pearl, Seashell, Sterling Silver, Gunmetal Chain | Approx length 17in | $65 | SOLD
This shell has a delicate, overall peach color with a spot of burgundy. The texture is soft like a ruffle and works well with the lovely sheen of the Baroque pearl. A purple leather cord with golden copper wire provides contrast. Finished with a handmade necklace clasp.
This shell said Modern Art to me. There were several perfect places for black and silver Freshwater Pearls to nestle. Pearls are attached to the shell with Sterling Silver. The pendant hangs from blue leather cord with hand hammered necklace clasp.
This shell has the prettiest shades of grey that work perfectly with the pink Baroque Pearl. It’s an unexpected combination with the rough edges of the shell and the opalescent quality of the pearl. Hung from ocean blue hemp cord with handmade necklace clasp. So mermaid.
